Limited Warranty:
Subject to the terms and conditions stated herein, Asia Building Materials Limited (hereinafter “ABM”) warrants ABM trim and siding products against rot, decay and finger joint/edge glue failure for a period of ten (10) years from date of purchase.
This limited warranty extends to:
- The first retail purchaser of the product; and
- The first owner of the structure to which the product is installed; and
- The first transferee where the product is installed.
This warranty may not be further transferred or assigned.
Each purchaser of ABM products is responsible for following applicable building codes and generally accepted building practices for “finish” lumber and siding and ABM guidelines for storage, handling, installation and finishing of ABM products. Never allow ABM products to directly touch brick, stone, concrete or similar material. ABM products are not for structural use or load bearing applications. ABM products must be kept clean and dry prior to application of finish paint coat or coats. The installer must prime coat any cut ends or ripped edges and any areas around fastening devices, i.e.: nails, screws, staples, etc. with 100% Acrylic Latex primer or Alkyd oil primer. Failure to follow the above recommended guidelines will void this warranty.
Limitations/Exclusions
This warranty is limited exclusively to replacement of defective product only or twice the retail price of the replacement materials. Under no circumstance shall ABM be liable for mold or mildew growth, extractive bleeding, paint or coating failure, labor for removal, re-installation, cost of replacement material, freight, taxes or any other accessory materials or charges related to the replacement of a defective ABM product.
Additional Limitations
ABM shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, consequential, exemplary or other damages of any kind whatsoever, whether any such claim is based upon theories of contract, warranty, negligence, tort strict liability or otherwise. This Limited Warranty does not cover and ABM is not liable for damage or failure of ABM products as a result of one or more of the following: intentional or unintentional misuse of or damage to any ABM product; impact of foreign object or objects; earthquake, flood, fire, excessive heat, lightning, hail, ice, tornado, hurricane, windstorm, or and other Acts of God; improper installation of the product itself or it’s structural or nonstructural support or supports and or accessories used in connection with, not in strict adherence to ABM’s written
installation instructions; movement, settlement, distortion, warping or cracking of the product’s support or accessories used in connection herewith; physical abuse, vandalism, riot, insurrection, improper maintenance, use of incompatible accessories; or other products that cause an ABM product defect or failure to occur; pollution, acid rain, application of harmful chemicals, gas or vapors applied to the ABM product; or ordinary and expected weathering due to exposure to the elements or extreme atmospheric conditions that may be unique to a certain geographic area. ABM shall have sole discretion in the determination of product suffering from normal weathering. This warranty does not cover topcoat/painted finishes or coatings applied to the product by the original purchaser or any third party.
All claims under this Limited Warranty must be made within 30 days from the time the defect is discovered and while the product is in place. Any owner or third party applied remedy without ABM authorization shall void this warranty. ABM reserves the right to inspect or have an authorized third party inspect any alleged product defect and to observe or have observed the installed product and the environment of the product where it has been used. ABM shall have the option of retaining all defective material if replaced. No dealer, distributor or other person or entity is authorized by ABM to make statements or representations regarding the performance of any ABM product except as contained in this Limited Warranty and other information written and approved by ABM.
How to File a Warranty Claim
To file a claim under this Limited Warranty, original purchaser must send proof of purchase and date of purchase, one or more pictures of the alleged defective product and a detailed written description to:

THE FORGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LEIU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. CLAIMS FILED AGAINST THIS LIMITED WARRANTY ARE SUBJECT TO COST SHARED SOUTH CAROLINA MED-ARB REMEDY.
ABM reserves the right to fully investigate any claim. Upon verification and validation of a claim, ABM shall, at its option, either arrange for the delivery of replacement product/s or issue, through its distributor, a refund or credit, through its distributor, equal to the original distributor’s cost of the product/s only.
